Overview

Dominican University of California is a private university in San Rafael, California: a Marin County city that is north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The university was established in 1890s by the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, a Catholic organization.

Academics

The university offers over 60 programs and guarantees that each student will graduate within four years. Fifth-year students are eligible for free tuition. Dominican allows students to complete an honors program through a special project, independent study, and honors seminars. Honors students complete advanced classes and extra units. Every year, Dominican University selects one student to complete an internship program in the United States Department of Commerce in the United States.

Green MBA

The United States' first sustainable Master of Business Administration launched at Dominican University. This program creates a streamlined course of study to educate business leaders in environmental topics. The program also features a certificate in sustainable business management through a six-month program.

Ballet School

Dominican University also features a ballet school at the Alonzo King's LINES Ballet School. Students of this program are eligible to earn a bachelor's of fine arts in dance. Students who major in dance are required to complete a comprehensive liberal arts education and satisfy a variety of core requirements.
