Medical billing is a process of completing the claims of the patient and billing it to insurance companies. The curriculum of the medical billing training includes administrative, clinical, and laboratory procedures, anatomy, medical terminology, legal aspects of health information. Other courses include coding and abstraction of data, collection, medical transcriptions, and database and billing management. The duration of the course may vary between one and three years. You can also earn a diploma in duration of nine months to one year. To become a skilled medical billing specialist, a nationally recognized billing online trading certificate program is necessary. The course for preparing the national certification exam may be for 240 hours or 300 hours.

Testing & Preparation

The students who wish to pursue medical billing degree must have a completed high school certificate with a minimum grade point average Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00. They must also qualify at Common Placement Test (CPT) with sub scores of 51.1 in reading part and 52.1 in sentence skills part. Apart from these, you should have well versed in operating a computer.
