Overview

A continuous or rapid display of two or three dimension images or objects put together as a sequence to create an illusion of movement is called animation. This is possible because of persistence of the vision and there are a number of ways to create it. There are three most commonly used types of animation: drawing and artwork, 3D objects, and computer graphics.

If you are creative enough and talented to design animations and also have a great deal of aptitude for working with computer applications, then you will surely profit a lot from the animation schools. You may enjoy going to one of the many fine animation schools that offer both undergraduate (BFA) and graduate (MFA) programs in animation and/or painting.

Animators are the standouts of the art world when it comes to career opportunities, and many work in movies or on video games.

Benefits

The main benefit of joining an animation school is that you get to meet many of the famous personalities in the animation field. This would help you to know more about their experiences as guidelines for your future. The path to become a successful animator might be tough and very competitive, but once you achieve a good position, it will be very self satisfying. Unfortunately, the number of available positions for animators is comparatively less than the talented animators.

When compared with the others fields, animators have considerable job opportunities in a variety of fields. They can do medical illustrations, animations for movies, or cartoons. The salary for animators ranges from $40,000 to $100,000, based on their skills and experience.

Costs

The cost of taking up an animation course varies with the schools you choose. There are top animation schools that are very expensive, for those who do not consider money as an issue or for those who have animation as a passion. Tuition fees can reach as high as $6,000 per semester class.

Schools

There are a handful of animation schools you can choose from including Academy of Art University, Ringling College of Arts & Design, Rhode Island School of Design and Digital Media Arts College.
